Presented by The Click Clack Project in association with Melbourne Festival, Footscray Community Arts Centre, Cloverdale Community Centre and the University of Melbourne's Music Mind and Wellbeing Initiative.
One performer. One audience member.
A one-of-a-kind aural experience.
On the opening weekend of Melbourne Festival 2013, a gathering of black teepees will congregate in Federation Square’s Atrium space, each tent big enough for just two people.
Within each, a brief work of sonic performance unfolds, a work solely for you – the only other person in the room. Sonic Flock is a collectively created work that celebrates the fluid
creativity of communities.
The Sonic Flock was an experiential aural exhibit with a decidedly intimate twist – a free-form, immersive art experiment with a rotating roster of almost 30 artists:
The Amplified Elephants (Sound Art), Noise Scavengers (Sound Art), Richard Allen (Sound Art), Ros Bandt (Sound Art), Carolyn Connors (Voice), Rod Cooper (Sound Art), Dale Gorfinkle, (Sound Art), Timothy Phillips (Percussion), Judith Hamann (Cello), Michael Hewes (Sound Art), Miranda Hill (Double Bass), Albert Mishriki (Sound Art), Tarab (Eamon Sprod) (Sound Art) and Belinda Woods (Flute).
Premiered: 12-13 October 2013, The Atrium, Federation Square, Melbourne Festival 2013.
